GENERAL DRAFTING
General drafting is counted as any drafting work that is not related to building design or that may be a special case for building design. Plans will include whatever is deemed necessary for the job to be properly completed. The price of general drafting work is $30.00 per hour. This covers labor and material but not the cost of any outside consultants.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
1. Specification writing and material listing. A written list specifying material types, qualities, quantities, and even models and manufacturers. Required for permitting in some cities. May be helpful in defining the quality of home desired to contractors.
2. Budgeting and material selections. Making an account of all fixtures, structural members, wall finishes, floor finishes, moldings, and anything else required to build your home. This is used in conjunction with the Specifications and Material list to get an accurate account of how much it will cost to build your home.
3. Inspection services. Periodic inspection of the construction to check for plan and code compliance. Reports will be made to the owner as to any possible short falls that may be present.
ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS
It may be necessary to hire outside consultants to successfully complete your building or home design. Consultants may include, mechanical designers, electrical and plumbing designers structural engineers, or civil engineers. If these service are required or requested, their fees will simply be added to my charges as listed above.
